History of Bayside Yacht Club |
| In April of 1961 the original
club known as the "Fisher Body Yacht Club" was formed in response to efforts
of 59 boating enthusiasts at fisher body.
In 1965 the club bought the property that we have now located at 28921 William P Rosso Highway in Mt. Clemens Michigan. The next year, the members and other involved parties, agreed that it would be of mutual interest to change the name of the club to "Bayside Yacht Club". And so it was that BYC was incorporated into a non-profit organization under the laws of Michigan. Also in 1966, the club became a member of the "Inter Lakes Yachting Association" and then in 1967 became a member of the "Anchor Bay Yachting Association". In 1976 and 1977, the dream became a reality when rebuilding of the clubhouse was completed and formed into the property that we enjoy today. 1981 saw the addition of the our garage, patio, and deck. The sundeck above the breezeway and garage was completed in 1988. The combined efforts of the membership and their families contribute to make "Bayside Yacht Club" one of the finest yacht clubs on the Great Lakes! |
